Gustavo Martinez
I am Gustavo Martinez, a photojournalist from Tehuacán, Puebla, currently based in Mexico City. I hold a degree in Computational Systems Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and have lived in Mexico City since 2016.
I began photographing in 2018 after discovering an old analog camera that belonged to my uncle. What started as a personal exploration of everyday life evolved into a documentary and journalistic interest in contemporary Mexico—ranging from spot news to the rituals and traditions of my hometown.
Although my academic background is in engineering, I have continuously trained in photography through independent study and specialized courses. My work has been exhibited in Tehuacán, including at the Tehuacán Evolution Museum and various local galleries.
